About Ruth Jones
Ruth has worked professionally in the field of arts development – largely as a youth arts specialist - for more than 20 years, much of it in developmental roles at national and regional levels. She has wide- ranging working knowledge and understanding of practices in youth and participatory arts, having worked as practitioner, project manager, trainer and in a range of consultancy roles.
She is author of several published articles and books and is often invited to advisory groups and to speak at conferences and seminars, as well as running workshops and training on a range of subjects from organistaional development to project planning and management.
An experienced fundraiser and entrepreneur, Ruth has a consistent track record when it comes to raising considerable amounts of cash and support for a range of projects, programmes, and organisations.
Through her own company Ruth L Jones Ltd Ruth works on one-off or long term contracts as sole consultant or in partnership with other professionals to deliver stragic programmes, training and consultancy.
Through Firestarter Arts CIC (Community Interest Company) she works with colleagues and associates on a social enterprise basis to develop new projects and programmes to provide young people with opportunities to engage in creative and leadership activities, and to support other professionals and organisations.
As a practising musician (bass guitarist/singer for “The Zucchinis” and “The Courgettes”)
she has also been regularly involved in teaching and delivering music projects for both adults and young people.
